The Sticker Shop Co. // Affordable Functional Planner Stickers Haul & First Impressions

I have been obsessed with my vertical column planner since I got it in May. I’m a proud Plum Paper Planner, and I am a big fan of their designs for planner layouts (AKA Lines! Why do no planners have writing lines anymore???). And functional stickers to accent it, of course. Unfortunately, I just hadn’t got the opportunity to get a big batch of basics until recently. Enter: Chelsea & The Sticker Shop Co.

DSCF0478x

I found Chelsea and her shop through her shop’s Instagram (like many others, I’m sure). She happened to be having an AMAZING 4th of July sale going on, so I decided to take the plunge. At the time a whole hullabaloo was going on with Etsy’s payment processing, so she ended up extending the sale, and it conveniently worked out (as someone who’s income “comes in”, haha, on the 6th and 21st). I don’t regret it at all, as everything is lovely, but it is a fairly large haul. I definitely won’t need stickers for a while.

But let’s be real, I’ll probably find something super kawaii and have to have it.

The main reason why I decided to order was a combination of the overall super affordable prices and the bomb discount code for the 4th of July sales. I normally wouldn’t include something like this, but this was such a good deal that I must show you!

TSSC

As with many sticker shops, it pays to wait for sales, and definitely use available coupon codes. Often these are found in Instagram bios, or on recent posts announcing sales. I have never bought stickers if I don’t have a coupon code, flat out. It just isn’t necessary. On smaller orders, they can make an even bigger difference!

DSCF0480x
The gorgeous freebie sampler! I think I’ll end up pairing this with the kit that I purchased, as the pinks are quite similar and the silver glitter detailing is awesome.

DSCF0481x

Here is said kit! And here is a highlight of The Sticker Shop Co: the prices. This shop is amazing for those on a budget. This two sheet kit was $3.75, even before discount. Under two bucks a sheet is just amazing for a kit. The colours and designs are impressive on this, but I think TSSC definitely shines on their rainbow and functional items.

DSCF0482x

Weekend banners… ahh… I’ve missed having these! I love both of these designs for different reasons. I consider the ones on the left to be a bit more decorative, the right to be more functional.

The decorative ones are a unique design to Chelsea’s shop, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shop include coordinating Friday labels! Very cute! I’m definitely saving the deep dark red weekend banner for the week of Christmas 🎅🎄

The thin weekend banners are a more realistic option for the budget conscious. With 25 on a sheet, they will cover you for a long time without needing to repurchase. They also come in a wide array of shades that will apply to most colour themes that you could create! Also vibrant and well cut, and they take up less space than a traditional weekend banner if that’s your cup of tea, or need more space to write on the weekends.

Onto icons~

Icons are absolutely one of the highlights of my planning experience. Somehow, they’re both decorative and functional, and can totally play into a colour theme. They’re nice for accenting simple appointment or half boxes. Just, they’re so fun for me, and it’s kind of like a Pokemon gotta catch ’em all and have a sheet of every design. I showed some restraint on this order, of course, but seeing that Chelsea recently designed some mini coffee cups and balloons has me all 👀👀👀

All of the icons I bought were $2.50 a sheet before discount.

DSCF0486x

DSCF0487x

I know these seem like very grown up icons. Shopping carts, shopping bags and phones. Oh, and by the way, there are sooooo many phones on that sheet, I won’t need more for years ☎️☎️☎️ Especially with my phone anxiety 😉❤. Spectacular colouring on these btw, for pastel toned stickers they are incredibly bright.

DSCF0489x

DSCF0490x

Woo, packing boxes! I know they’re probably the least exciting sticker in the world, but I love using them. Because guess who’s addicted to online shopping…. -> Me. Also cars! 🚗 I love road trips, and I’m actually looking forward to getting my driver’s permit and license over this next year or so. I think they will be a very useful sticker for me! Suitcases will probably be handy too, even though vacations are few and far between around here. We often stay over for a night or two at family friend’s houses after bonfires and such. Same thing with the little row of airplane stickers at the bottom, enough for a life time! ✈️

DSCF0491x

DSCF0492x

Laptops, of course, I’ve been needing these forever. In fact I think they would have been perfect for when I was taking online classes (I just graduated, I’ve got my diploma to prove it!). 💻 These will also be nice to mark when I publish blog posts and such. I like the variation in design, and the usage can be customized as necessary from plain to hearts to work. So unique in the scope of planner stickers!

Also mixed icons! I find these so handy for when you need them. For example, I don’t wash windows often, so I don’t need a whole sheet of spray bottle stickers, but it is so practical to have these when you need to label an activity.

Onto some rainbow basics~

This is my last category of stickers I’ll be covering today. I believe these can be one of the most functional types of stickers, especially for planners who are willing to deal with white space planning but still want their planners to be cute, aesthetic, colourful AND functional.

DSCF0493x

DSCF0494x

Wooo, probably the most practical yet least exciting sticker types of all; tear drops and rainbow dots. I use tear drops constantly, at least one every week. Rainbow dots are more sparing for me, simply allow me to mark things that don’t need a box, but I still want to make sure that I notice. I love the look of them, and they are really cute, and will last me FOREVER.

DSCF0497x

DSCF0498x

Full Boxes 😍 I really love the design of these, and the colours are soooo vibrant IRL. I use these mostly for layering and decorative reasons, as my planner is lined for a reason. My favourite way is to place my hydrate mason jars over the top for the layered effect.

DSCF0554x

DSCF0503x

I find half boxes so aesthetically pleasing! These are TSSC’s Gem half boxes, and again, the colours are very unique. They’re far from standard rainbow. I got these two sheets for $5. $2.50 for 24 half boxes is such a bomb deal, when shops usually sell 12 for $3. (I think that’s highway robbery, personally, in such a saturated market).

DSCF0560x
A beautiful pinky coral half box!

DSCF0505x

DSCF0507x

You think it’s one sheet of stickers??? No- WHABAM, 2 Sheets! I’m sure these are set up this way to maximize amount for shipping, I definitely appreciate it. I have never seen this design before, outlined box stickers, but I think they look great for when you may be doing a multiple colour theme. Again, $3 for this whole sheet. Of 32 half boxes.

(I’m always impressed by that, every time I see it. Anyways, moving on.)

DSCF0511x

DSCF0512x

Traditional rainbow filled half boxes. I figured these were a necessary addition to this order, as I had one remaining rainbow half box to my name, and they are just such a well designed sticker. Definitely a necessity if you don’t use themed kits every week for your spreads.

DSCF0513x

This is an interesting functional sticker, they are called Tab Boxes in Chelsea’s shop! I would describe this as an appointment half box, and they function so well in a spread. You can create small lists with a title in the shaded area at the top, or even flip them upside down to use in different ways. Very versatile, I like them a lot. Not necessarily essential, but definitely a great asset to the planning experience.

DSCF0556x

DSCF0517x

DSCF0522x

Finally, onto some smaller stickers. These are quarter boxes, I believe in the gem colorway. They function the same as say a flag or a banner, but just allow you to block off the whole space evenly. Mini half boxes, if you will. 48 total come on a sheet, so awesome for the price.

DSCF0555x

DSCF0523x

DSCF0524x

These stickers are the final ones I ordered. These are a bit of an amalgamation between a quarter box and a tear drop. Again, these are the outlined style. This sheet is a bit smaller compared to what I believe to be TSSC’s normal, but it was marked at a lower price than the larger sheets. I think I would’ve preferred paying a bit more for an extra column or so in this design. #NoTeaNoShade, they’re perfect, nothing wrong with them. I quite like this design, and will use them up, but I don’t know if I’d repurchase as is.

DSCF0526x
Very cute personalization on the cello bag protecting the stickers. Would it be shady to say I actually peeled this sticker off and stuck it in my planner? Well, my lips are sealed as to if I did or didn’t. XX

As you can probably tell, I’m extremely pleased with TSSC. I consider this a reliable shop option. It shipped out extremely quickly, especially considering the size of the order. I purchased on the 7th, they shipped on the 12th, and I received them on the 15th. Eight days. Amazing.

And I think that’s the best way to describe The Sticker Shop Co. Amazing. For my style of planning, there isn’t a type of sticker in the shop that I wouldn’t like or use. The versatility is unbeatable, in my opinion, while still having enough variety to cover in between. For what I would consider budget prices, even before discount, the quality AND quantity is ridiculous.

If you are looking to get some of your first basic stickers, or some more functional pieces to supplement your sticker collection, I highly recommend Chelsea and The Sticker Shop Co.

Bath & Body Works // Summer 2016 SAS Semi Annual Sale Haul

Woo! Who doesn’t love the Semi Annual Sale? I don’t know why they don’t just call it the biannual sale, as it’s always twice a year, but here I am anyways, buying a ton of stuff for the hell of it. Why not? It’s all at such a good price, and who doesn’t love smelling good?

Unfortunately, my mall is in the middle of a clusterfluff of road construction for the summer, and no one in my family is willing to brave that (including me) to go to Bath & Body Works. Which is fine with me, God bless online shopping.

I felt fine ordering online because I really was only interested in their #FlashbackFragrances, which were reliably all on sale and available online (and I think still are, until at least the beginning of July). I am sad I won’t be able to get into the trenches in store and rifle through those 75% off sale and discontinued bins, but I will live, especially because I’ve got all of these new goodies to play with!

I got all body products this order because I haven’t gotten new body stuff is a year and a half, not this previous Winter SAS but the one before (Year of Christmas 2014? sure.). We’ll start with the exciting stuff and work to the less exciting stuff, lol. Not a good way to have an audience reading to the end of a post but that is how we’re doing it!

DSCF0378x

First off, I got some body mists, or Fine Fragrance Mists as B&BW describes them. I can’t say that without thinking “Fiiiiine” like how you would describe a lover or someone you think is hot hahah. Not necessarily my opinions on a body spray. These are going for $3.75 a piece, and I got them down to $3.07 with a $10 off of $40 coupon. Score!

I got Country Apple, a Sun Ripened Raspberry, a Cucumber Melon, and a Cotton Blossom.

Cotton Blossom is actually a really nice cotton scent, and it smells similar to if you had clothes hanging out on the line. Awesome scent, I think I’ll love it a lot for days when I don’t wanna go hard on the fruity [which is rare, but it does happen 😉 ]

DSCF0375x

Onto shower gels! I’ve been meaning to get more into smelly shower products to get myself into a proper shower routine. Cue, smelly shower gel! Yes!

Country Apple, Cucumber Melon, and Sun Ripened Raspberry, of course. I always reliably like fruity notes in my bath products, and these are no exception. Yum yum yum.

Country Apple is a bit of an artificial apple scent, but it does smell good. It’s just clean and fresh enough not to be overpowering on the apple. Very good!

Cucumber Melon is such a classic. I personally smell a lot of cantaloupe in the scent with a background of cucumber and a sweetness that seems like it is based in a honeydew type, and that’s how it turns out on my skin. It’s just lovely.

As far as my opinions on Sun Ripened Raspberry, it is a true sweet raspberry scent. When I used this on my skin, it adopted a sort of warmth to it that was yummy for a raspberry scent.

DSCF0382x

Next will seem like a more odd item, but I had to get some Triple Moisture Body Creams. I love love love the TMBC formulation, and they have done away with it! They’ve replaced it with their new Ultra Shea Body Cream formulation, and I find the Ultra Shea way too greasy! Sad face. So I decided to just pick a few up and use them sparingly. It is my favourite, so I’ll have to just deal. These are currently selling for $3.25 a piece, and I got it down to $2.45 each! Awesome! Next time I get into a Bath & Body Works, I’m going to pick up more while I still can!

I got Dancing Waters and Rainforest Leaves, particularly because I have tried and loved Dancing Waters and that they’re both neutral enough scents that won’t conflict with other skincare I have. And they won’t make me nauseated when I don’t want to smell like a tropical fruit salad. Dancing Waters is a slightly musky yet fresh water scent that I’ve always loved, and I’m so happy to have such a large amount of it, unadulterated! Rainforest Leaves is still a clean rain scent, but there is a green undertone that is so nice. Both scents are right up my alley.

And last, and certainly not least, Pocketbacs. I go through phases with Pocketbacs, and when B&BW changed their Pocketbac design and packaging I got frustrated and refused to buy anymore until I ran out. Well, a year a half later, I’m officially bored of all of my scents in the old triangle-esque packaging. It was time. My picks out of this bunch are Black Cherry Merlot, Watermelon Lemonade, and Nectarine Sun Tea, but I definitely don’t hate Golden Pineapple Luau or Strawberry Vanilla Sugar. The first three are definitely stand out scents though.

Black Cherry Merlot was a scent that everyone freaked out over, particularly in hand soap form, during the fall time. I like it as a depthful perfumey fruit scent, it really is good!

Watermelon Lemonade, this scent was and still is incredibly HYPED in candle form. I love lemon scents, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Truth be told, I was kind of still sick when I got this box of B&BW stuff in, but this was strong and amazing as ever. The watermelon is pure and sweet.

Nectarine Sun Tea, Suuuuuun tea, my love. This scent is quite the balance between the peachy nectarine and a light tea fragrance. It isn’t the best of the best, the nectarine definitely overpowers the tea, but it is still nice.

I did the 5 for $6 deal (and by the way, what happened to the 5 for $5? gosh). Actually, I take that back, because with my coupon code I ended up paying 98 cents a piece. Great! I also picked up a new carrier, as my old one won’t work with the new design. Also the turtle is gorgeous and it matches my bag so why not. That was a very white girl thing to say, but it’s chill, that’s me.

DSCF0388x
So cute! Look at his little face! I’ve decided to name him Mac, after Niccolo Machiavelli.

DSCF0384x

So that was everything I got for myself for the Semi Annual Sale this year! I love everything I picked up and can’t wait to start using everything. Mac with Nectarine Sun Tea is going on my bag right now! 😘❤️

Nomad Eco Stitches // Cloth Pad Haul & First Impressions

DSCF0275x

So, recently the lovely Tracy over at Nomad Eco Stitches had a restock that featured some hand dyed OBV and I absolutely had to indulge in because I find ice dyed OBV so gorgeous.

I’ve been meaning to order up some pads from NES for {3} reasons:

  1. The price point is absolutely fantastic for the lengths and absorbency they carry.
    1. I chose to indulge in some longer pads because I’m lazy and I prefer to wash every four days but I just don’t have enough overnights in my stash for that. They were so so reasonable in price.
  2. The customization options on certain prints are great (but not RTS).
    1. The skull / calavera / calaca print is available in multiple lengths and absorbencies.
  3. I always love supporting military fams, as a former Army brat myself ^_^
    1. Tracy’s husband is a Marine. The nomad part of “Nomad Eco Stitches” makes my heartstrings twang a bit, even now. ❤

Alright, onto the pads!

DSCF0278x

DSCF0279x

DSCF0282x

This first pad I am so so excited about. I’ve been wanting a calacas / Dia de los Muertos pad forever, as I’ve been studying hispanohablante culture and the Spanish language for nearly 7 years now. It just makes me happy to see something so unique!

This pad is a 12.5″ heavy, ironically the shortest pad that I got on this order. The core stitching on this is a very pretty almost decorative zig zag that I quite like! The cotton top seems to be of a good quality, and soft for a cotton knit / flat faced cotton (can’t quite tell).

The pattern repetition and placement is quite good, no complaints about that. The hand drawn looking design is so different, and just plain gorgeous. The flowers, particularly the roses, put the perfect Mexican flair to this design. The colors are also incredibly vibrant. Love love love!

Here is a direct link to this pad, as it’s still available (and customizable) in Tracy’s shop as of 8 May 2016. X

DSCF0284x

DSCF0285x

DSCF0288x

The next pad I picked out is a gorgeous feather design. Teal is one of my most favorite colors and this mixture of colors is visually appealing to my eye.

This is also quite a long pad for me at 14″. This would be a great great overnight for almost anyone, in any situation. I would consider this a postpartum absorbency. The feathers on this look almost like hand painted design, and both the purple and the teal have a nice colour vibrancy in a vintage-y sort of way. Beautiful!~

Here is a direct link to this pad, as it’s still available in Tracy’s shop as of 8 May 2016.

(bonus backshot because it’s just so gorgeous)

The final pad I have here is the pad I discussed at the beginning of this post. Tracy did a limited run of some hand dyed OBV, and I simply had to get this one because it was calling to me so strongly. This pad is also a 14″ overnight / postpartum.

I just have to say, out right, this is probably the softest pad I have ever felt in my life. And it’s an organic fiber! Amazing! I’m sorry if it´s looking a bit rumpled, I couldn’t help but just feel it for a while after I got it. I’ll definitely be looking into some more organic bamboo velour in the future.

The colouring on this is utterly breathtaking, and one of a kind. I’m not the biggest fan of pink, but the depth of the colour is so gorgeous and the intermingling with the others it looks amazing. The unique part of this pad compared to the other two I bought is that it seems to be a true hidden core style pad. I don’t think I have any of this type, so I’m excited to see how it holds up.

Overall Impressions:DSCF0304x

These are so well put together! These are my first pads that are backed in Windpro, and I’m very impressed with the quality of that as well. Each of these are backed in black Windpro, if you were wondering.

The snaps seem like standard size 20 KAM, and they are placed pretty much perfectly. They seem quite durable and the colours are coordinated with the colours of the print. The double snap is definitely appreciated for the size of the width of these pads.

The construction is nearly perfect, and after a wash and a close inspection there seems to be no problems at all. The aesthetic of it all is quite nice, whether it’s of the stitched core or hidden core variety.

The gentle flair design seems to be perfect for me, as well as perfect for most people. I totally would suggest this style in a 10″ for anyone’s first cloth pad experience.

The overall feel of these pads is what surprised me: they are so incredibly thin for what they are (heavy and postpartum pads). The OBV topped is just a bit more cushion / squishy than the cotton toppeds. They will all be awesome for overnight, and I think I could pull off the twelve and a half inch with skulls for a day at home as well! I’m super excited to use them.

I totally recommend joining the Nomad Eco Stitches private Facebook group, it’s great if you want updates on stockings and other information.
